There will be no Coptic Scouts meetings until the start of school year in September. There has been a lot of activities going on (weddings, kids camps) and there are a number of people who have been going out of town. And due to the limited number of leaders, we realized that we cannot have meetings during this time of the year.

What is Coptic Scouts?

Coptic Scouts is a nonprofit, educational association, which exists to foster the development and growth of youth of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States. Coptic Scouts serves to teach young individuals the values of the Coptic Church and the Holy Bible, discipline, altruism, and service and to further increase their awareness of their coptic heritage and Christian Orthodox values.

What are some activities of Coptic Scouts?

As a Coptic Scout, you will master the skills of:
    1. Campsite setup
    2. Cooking
    3. Fishing
    4. Boating/Sailing
    5. Archery
    6. First Aid
    7. Woodcraft
    8. Gardening
    9. Photography
    10. Music

You will also enjoy:
    1. Regular meetings and a Christian education
    2. Community service
    3. Group activities such as trips, cultural activities, sports,
         and social gatherings

What are the requirements for being a Coptic Scout?

Membership is open to all members of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States - males and females - who are seven years of age or older. To join, one must complete a Coptic Scouts application and a health history form, signed by his/her parent or guardian, and pay the annual membership dues. Members are expected to show up to all meetings and activities. In case of absence, the scoutmaster must be notified, which can be done online.

Where are meetings held?

Regular meetings are held every other Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM alternating between Archangel Raphael Church and St. Mark Church. You can choose one location to always drop your child at because transportation between the two churches will be provided. Locations will be confirmed the day before via email. Follow the Bible's teachings,
and obey my spiritual fathers.
Obey the Scout laws and scoutmasters.
Serve others the the maximum of my abilities
Keep myself physically strong, morally straight and spiritually nourished
